This week was amazing! I was able to accomplish a lot! First, I double checked all of the places that I chose to research. I made sure that all the places I chose would be good options for people to consider taking a trip to. After finishing that I began researching activities at the destinations that I chose to research. Here is my work so far for Alaska. This is an example to show you my progress for my chosen destinations. Alaska is a good place to go in the summer. A few good ideas on what to do are dogsledding, whale watching, and hiking in the beautiful nature. Alaska is an amazing place to travel to. A good idea from my experience is to take a cruise to Alaska with multiple stops. This gives you time to do all the must do attractions and you still get to enjoy the cruise. I had a great experience with Royal Carribean. I would definitely reccommend taking this trip. This is what I have so far for Alaska, more will be added every week. I had no struggles or setbacks this week. I also didn’t make any adjustments to my plans. Next week I will continue to work on finding activities to do at my chosen destinations.

My favorite room in my house is the family room. There are many reasons that this is my favorite room but here are a few. In the family room there is a very comfortable couch. It is a reclining couch that is brown. By pushing a little button you can make the couch have a cushioned leg rest. If you want the couch to be like a bed, you can push back on the seat and it will go all the way back. I love this couch. It is a perfect couch to watch movies on, get cozy while drinking hot cocoa on, and even to sleep on! My second reason is that there is a very large T.V. screen in the family room. I can get comfortable in a blanket and watch a movie on the very large screen. The T.V. has a very good sound system connected to it that is up on the ceiling with multiple speakers connected. The T.V. almost makes you feel like you are in a movie theater. Lastly the family room is my favorite room due to how close it is to the kitchen. The family room is next door to the kitchen. This makes it very easy to get snacks while watching a movie. I can even watch a movie from the kitchen table. Although the view isn’t great, I can still watch a movie from the table. These are three reasons why the family room is my favorite room in my house.

For my 20% project I chose to research travel ideas. The reason I chose to do this is due to the fact that I love traveling! I also have a passion for writing down places to travel to. Before starting my 20% project I still researched places for my family to go to during the coming school break. This week I was able to accomplish finding all the places that I will research about in the next few weeks. I found about 35 different places to research. This week I had no struggles! I accomplished my goals and finished the work I had to do at home. At home I added the categories for the travel destinations. I didn’t make any adjustments this week. I left off with a google slides presentation with each destination on its own slide. Next week I will work on finding the activities and hotels to go to at the vacation destinations.

Choosing my 20% project took a lot of thinking. At first, I had no idea what to choose. The night that I was told that I have to choose my project, I didn’t even start to think about it. That night I was looking at places for my family to travel. I looked at many different places, hotels, and activities that we could do around the world. The next day, I began talking to my mom about it. She told me a few ideas but they didn’t quite interest me. I looked up some ideas, but those still didn’t match my passions. A few days later, my friend Brooklyn came up with a great idea! Her idea was that I research travel ideas and plans. I could find good places to travel to and when is a good time to go to them. This idea matched my passions and made me actually interested in researching this. Using this idea, I could both find somewhere for my family to travel to and make a good project out of it. My final idea is that I’m going to research different places to travel to and when are good times to go to these places. I will also look into different hotels to stay in. I will post blogs along my journey of researching about travel!

This month I read The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. The Summer I Turned Pretty is a 276 page novel. This month I read until page 100. The Summer I Turned Pretty takes place at a beach house in Cousins beach. In the beginning, Belly is a teen girl who stays in a beach house in Cousins beach every summer. As the conflict develops, Belly feels the need to choose between Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the two sons of the woman that owns the beach house. Belly also shares flashbacks from years before when she invited her friend Taylor to the beach house. Taylor also finds interest in Jeremiah and Conrad. That is the part of the plot that I have read so far.

I liked this book because it always makes you want to read more. When you start to read this book, you just keep wanting to read more. You should definitely read this book because it gets you hooked from the beginning! This book makes reading fun! It makes you actually want to read it.

My favorite character in this book is Susannah. Susannah is my favorite character because she always makes everybody happy and creates a good mood in their beach house. My favorite trait that she portrays is optimism. Throughout the part of the book that I read, Susannah was always optimistic. A quote that shows this is, “You’re so pretty. So pretty. You’re going to have an amazing summer.” This shows that Susannah is very optimistic and is making Belly happy. She is making Belly happy by complimenting her and assuring her that she will have an amazing summer.

My favorite quote from this novel is, “Nothing made Susannah happier than thinking up activities for us kids to do.” This quote is my favorite because it tells of how Susannah really cares about the kids and how she does so much for them. This tells me that Susannah is very caring. Caring people will do a lot for their friends and family. This is a trait that I admire.

There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three: my aunt, Tate McRae, and my mom. I chose these three people for many reasons, here are a few. I chose my aunt because she is very nice and fun to talk to. Every conversation with her brings me joy. She would also be fun to have at a dinner with Tate McRae. She would very much enjoy it and she deserves that fun! I chose to bring Tate McRae because she is my favorite singer and I admire her. If she came I would ask her many questions about her career. Tate McRae is both a singer and a professional dancer. I would also ask for tickets to her concert and an autograph. She is a very good dancer and I would ask her to show me her best or favorite dance. Lastly, I chose to bring my mom because she would be a super fun addition to this dinner. She deserves to come for everything she has done for me. My mom would be a fun addition to this dinner because she would also enjoy meeting Tate McRae and having dinner with my aunt. I also chose my mom because she likes the same types of food as me. She likes eating sushi and poke just like me! These are the three people that I would chose to invite to dinner with me.

If I could have any job in the entire world, it would be the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Apple. I would choose this job for many reasons. I will inform you of a few. The first reason is the payment. Having one of the highest roles in Apple most likely leads to having a pretty good salary. After looking online, I found out that the CTO of Apple most likely makes around $160,000 a year. This is over the average salary significantly. I would use the money that I would be payed for many things. One of these things would be to buy a very nice house. If I would have enough money then I would try to build my dream house. My dream house is described in one of my past blogs. I would then spend money on the things I enjoy doing. These things include traveling, being with friends, and many more! The second reason I chose this job is that I have always wanted a job that includes technology and being a boss. This job is my dream job because it combines the two things that I want my job to have. These two things are technology and being a boss. I want to be a boss because I am good at managing people and tasks. I would want a job with technology because I am very good at handling technology. I can always somehow figure out how electronics work. Lastly, I chose this job because Apple is an awesome company and I would probably get free stuff. If I worked as the CTO of Apple, I would most likely get a lot of free technology and new electronics inventions. This could save me large amounts of money. These are the three reasons that I chose this job as my dream job!

This month I read the novel Better Than The Movies. Better Than The Movies is a 343 page realistic fiction novel by Lynn Painter that takes place in the neighborhood of a girl named Liz Buxbaum. In the beginning, Liz is a senior in high school who dreams of having a perfect boyfriend. As the conflict develops, Liz faces the challenge of having to work with her biggest enemy, Wes to get a date with her new crush. Liz goes to a party with Wes to try to get closer to Michael, her new crush. Liz later gets barfed on and is very upset. After this happened, Wes brought her his extra clothes and let her borrow them. In the rising action of the story, Liz starts to hang out with Wes, they get closer to each other. Then, Liz starts to tell Wes some of her secrets. In addition, Liz starts to like Wes. Wes becomes her new crush. In a pivotal moment, Liz faces the greatest challenge when Michael asks Liz to prom. Many people are watching so Liz is pressured to say yes. The falling action tells of how Liz and Michael go to prom, Liz realizes that a different girl, named Laney likes Michael. She tells Michael to go be with Laney. Liz is left alone due to the fact that Wes has his own prom date. In the resolution, Liz ends up loving a certain boy that if you read the book then you will find out who it is!

I loved this book because it had quite a few plot twists! I always wanted to read more. The author did a great job making you really connect with the characters. It is almost as if the characters are your friends. The author also did an amazing job with creating a plot that always keeps you on the edge of your seat. An example of this is when in the beginning Liz hates Wes. Liz slowly starts to like Wes. This causes you to wonder whether or not Liz will actually become friends with Wes.

My favorite character was Wes. My favorite character trait that he shows is selflessness. In the beginning of the story, Wes and Liz were enemies. Wes soon starts to help Liz get Michael to like her. He helps her no matter what. A quote that represents this is, “Liz’s clothes are falling off, so it’s time for us to leave.”-page 70. He says this when they are at a party. Liz gets thrown up on and is really dirty. Not only does Wes leave with Liz, he also gives her some of his extra clothes. This saves her at the moment. Wes left even though he most likely didn’t want to leave.

My favorite quote from the story is, “Enemies to lovers it’s our trope, Buxbaum.” I chose this quote because Wes says this quote and it creates love between Liz and Wes. This quote is meaningful in the novel because it connects the beginning of the story to the end. In the beginning of the story, Wes and Liz argue about whether or not enemies can fall in love. Wes states that it is impossible but Liz claims that it is definitely possible. This quote is Wes saying that Liz was right.

The possibilities are endless when you are invisible for twenty-four hours! I became invisible by waking up one day and just being invisible. A voice in my head told me that I would stay invisible only for twenty-four hours. I thought of all the different things I could do. I came up with a plan that would occupy my twenty-four hours of invisibility. First, I pranked my siblings. I told them “Always be nice to Eden!” I then went and swapped the stuff on my their beds. I chose to do this because I thought my siblings reactions would be funny. Their reactions were hilarious! I also did this for revenge on all the pranks they did to me! Second, I went into my mom and dad’s bedroom and took all their pillows. I put their pillows in the shower in my bathroom. I did this because I wanted to mess with them and see how long it would take them to figure out what I did. Lastly, I chose to go to my friend’s house and annoy her. I made things look like they were flying. I made her think that she was dreaming. I definitely tricked her! I chose to do this because my friend is very gullible to these things. She was very frustrated with me when she found out it was me. This is also payback for pranks she did on me! That is was I did when I had twenty-four hours invisible.

I live on an abandoned island. My island is perfect! I got to this island while swimming at the beach. The waves took me with them and before I realized what was going on, I ended up on this amazing island. This island is a tropical paradise. It is fully stocked with food, candy, and robot chefs that make the most delicious food! The robots cook me food whenever I want. Food is unlimited and so is fun! There are robots to play anything I want with me. The robots are tall and have super long extendable arms. They are programmed to do anything I want them to do. Every day I do different things on my island. My day starts off with a delicious breakfast set on the table for me. Next, I play games, watch tv, and do whatever I feel like doing that day. After all this fun, I eat lunch. I choose what I want to eat on a screen and the food is made fresh within minutes! Life on my island is like living in a fairytale! For the rest of the day, I get to have a spa and massage. If I want to stop then I can end my massage/spa anytime. This is how my life is on my abandoned island. Having an abandoned island of my own is the best!
